Storyline: Jang Hyuk's character, Ui-Gang, was formerly a notorious contract murderer but has now changed his ways. He treasures the quiet times he spends with his wife these days. But peace is broken when his wife and her travel partner leave, leaving him in charge of her friend's daughter Yoon-Jin (played by Anne). When Yoon-Jin is kidnapped, the tranquilly is destroyed. Ui-Gang is now forced to return to the shadows in order to save Yoon-Jin and seek revenge on her kidnappers.
The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves to Die 2022 Full Movie Review: People often say things like "keep your day job" in a sarcastic way to deter others from achieving their goals. Certain careers, nevertheless, have a way of luring you back in spite of their disadvantages.
Jang Hyuk's character Bang Ui-gang, who was 42 at the time, gave up being an assassin and began living a peaceful life with Lee Chae-young's character Hyeon-soo. Hyeon-soo, however, breaks his serenity when she abruptly announces that she and her friend Yoo Seo-jin are on a three-week vacation to Jeju Island, leaving Ui-gang to take care of her friend's adolescent stepdaughter, Yoon-ji, who is portrayed by Anne.
The title of the movie, "A Girl Who Deserves To Die," may sound harsh, but it conceals the fact that the movie is far from misogynistic—a change from some of the previous depictions of women in Korean cinema. The 95-minute film, which was directed by Choi Jae-hoon and was based on Bang Jin-ho's novel "The Kid Deserves to Die," is a furious rush of action packed with unanticipated emotional depth.
Choi expertly crams a lot of story into a short running length, although several character arcs and subtleties are left unexplored. The film prioritises the adventure of the dynamic couple and the numerous action sequences above character development.
The movie begins with a brief demonstration of Ui-gang's deadly abilities before plunging straight into the story. Soon after Hyeon-soo leaves, Yoon-ji and Hye-joo, who initially appear to be innocent, disclose their actual motivations beneath their schoolgirl façade. In an effort to keep his distance, Ui-gang offers Yoon-ji money as a fictitious present and unintentionally believes their cover story—a shocking mistake for an experienced assassin. But he's not totally trustworthy; as a safety measure, he implants a tracker in Yoon-ji's wallet.
After Ui-gang stops Yoon-ji and Hye-joo from being trafficked, the story takes a sinister turn and Ui-gang finds itself under suspicion by Detective Lee (played by Lee Seung-Joon). Yoon-ji is abducted as Ui-gang conducts investigations, which reveals a far more extensive criminal network than first thought.
Ui-gang is a terrific killing machine that removes obstacles with ease and doesn't lose his temper. Bruce Khan's portrayal of Yuri in their encounter foreshadows a pivotal fight to come.
